Energy Code Testing Building Inspections


Maryland mandated the 2021 International Energy Conservation Code on May 29, 2023, requiring all local jurisdictions to mandate it within 12 months.


Performance Testing Requirements:


Envelope tightness verified to be 3.00 ACH50 or less using a blower door test.


Duct leakage verified to be less than 4 cfm/100 square feet of conditioned living area. Systems serving all conditioned space may need to be tested and varies by local jurisdiction.
